The Emerald Healer by arien The Emerald Healer by arien
Deep in the heart of Atlantis, the Arcane Brotherhood studied and expanded the lore compiled through centuries of magical prowess. The four branches of the Brotherhood focus each on a specific aspect of that most subtle of arts, the Emerald Order being the Healers.

I textured the outfit over a week, paying lots of attention to minute details like the nerves on the wings in the pectoral, and the decoration on the skirts, bracers and shoulderpads. It was crazy, but quite rewarding.

M4, Luthbel's Cobalt Hierophant, my textures now available at DAZ.

what prop you use as glow/magic effects.

An old AerySoul prop that was on sale at Renderosity as part of a Magic Effects package. The key is also to add a point light at the same point in space and with roughly the same size as the effect sphere, then set it up to cast light in the same colour as the effect; that's why the inside of the hands are lit here. Of course now you can just set the sphere to act as a light emitter.

Thank you! I am very fond of this outfit, I still think it's some of the best texturing work I've done to date.

The texturing is great and of clurse I imagine this has much to do with displacement?

Yeah, all the detail on the metal parts was done with displacement. The basic model has the face and the main sections of the shoulderblades, but all the hair and makeup sculpting on the pectoral's face, necklace, wings and of course the shoulderplates and bracers were displaced to get the extra detail, and then also added some antiquing (is that even a word?) in between to make the carvings stand out more.

Well first off...."Antiqueing" is a word. :):) Secondly, then the amount of detail portrayed in this work surely defines perserverence and sticktuitiveness...(Is that a word?) *L* I am gonna have to try a piece with this character in it soon I can tell.... *S*
